My name is Koen, I'm 21 years old, and I'm from Oirschot. I started cycling 5 years ago and joined De Meet three years ago. What I enjoy the most about cycling is racing and riding in the mountains. This board year will be my third consecutive board year, having previously acted as secretary and chairman.
This year, I hope to continue the upward trend that we're on. I want to keep building on the racing team that has grown significantly the past two years and further improve the cohesion within the association.
My name is Tristan, 31 years old, and I am from Tilburg. I am finishing my bachelor’s in arts education and the oldest member of the Candidate Board. I started cycling during the pandemic and started racing when I joined De Meet a year ago. I am joining this board as the Vice-chairman to bring experience and wisdom that comes with my age.
As Vice-chairman I will be focusing mainly on projects, growing the association and supporting the other board members. On the bike I like to make long rides and challenge myself. Next to riding on the road I’ll be making the transition to riding gravel and racing gravel races. The ultimate goal is to make any cyclist of every background and skill level feel welcome and part of De Meet.
My name is Tim, I’m 19 years old and I live in Liempde. I have been cycling with my parents since I was a child, and I have made cycling my sport for the past 2 years. I enjoy cycling because it takes you to places you would otherwise never go.
This will be my first board year and I’m very excited about it. I want to help grow the association in members, by increasing visibility and organising fun rides and activities. My goal for next year is to compete for the win in a StuCup and win the team classification with our racing team.
Hi! My name is Jakub, I’m 18 years old and currently in my second year of IBA at Tilburg University. I originally come from Poznań, Poland, and moved to the Netherlands to study and explore new opportunities.
I started road cycling about a year ago and quickly fell in love with the sport, both the challenge and the freedom it offers. I’m now working towards my long-term goal of completing a Half Ironman in the coming years.
As treasurer, I’m excited to contribute to the board by keeping our finances organized and transparent, making sure we can keep doing awesome things as a team. From race weekends to social rides and travel. I look forward to supporting the growth of the association and ensuring our budget supports all the exciting plans and ambitions we have as a team.
My name is Rick, 20 years old. I started mountain biking 5 years ago, 2 years later I started road cycling. I joined De Meet 2 years ago, time does really fly. I enjoy Time Trailing most, going fast against the clock.
This will be my first board year which I am really looking forward to. My main goals this year will be to, as race commissioner, expand our racing team to have representation at all StuCups, help people getting started with racing and keep our current team motivated to keep pushing for results. Secondly I also want to focus on expanding our reach on our social media and grow our platforms.
I’m Philip Offermans, 23 years old, and I’ve just started my master’s in Artificial Intelligence and Engineering Systems.
Three years ago, I joined De Meet while looking for a place to bike with fellow students. I signed up for a trip to Spain. Even though I wasn’t in top shape, I came back inspired and bought my own road bike.
As a former chairman of the association, I know how hard it is to make changes that last through board turnovers. Now, as candidate Director of Innovation and Continuity, my job will be to implement those changes and ensure new and old initiatives are transferable to future boards.
